The Museum of Pop Culture opened in 2004. In that year, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen had the idea for a pop culture museum. The museum’s 140,000-square-foot building was designed by architect Frank Gehry. Its interiors feature a gigantic LED video screen and a smashed-up guitar. The museum also boasts a number of interactive artifacts, a large collection of memorabilia, and galleries.
