Eye assessment and numbing
At your appointment, the artist assesses your eye shape, lash density, and skin around the eyes. Topical 4% lidocaine is applied, with no injectables. The eye area is sensitive, so the artist takes extra time letting the numbing settle, which is about 20 to 30 minutes, before any pigment goes in.

Mapping and look approval
Using your eye shape and the ratios of your face, the artist maps the line or the lash-line definition with a pencil first, so you can see exactly where the pigment will sit. You review and adjust together. For eyeliner, you decide how thick and how defined; for lash line enhancement, the goal is invisible definition. No pigment goes in until you approve the look.

Pigment selection
The artist selects a pigment that suits your coloring and the look you approved. All pigments at Eastside Microblading & Beauty pass European safety standards. The artist places the pigment along or between the lash line according to your approved map, keeping you comfortable throughout. A perfecting touch-up 6 to 8 weeks after the first session darkens or refines any spots that healed lighter, which is common around the eyes. This touch-up is scheduled and charged separately, and it is where the team perfects the final look so it sits exactly how you want it.

Most people are a little nervous about permanent work near the eyes, and that is fair, because it is the most sensitive area on the face and the examples they have seen are often too harsh, a hard black line that aged into something blue or smudged. We do the opposite of that. Everything Amanda saw out there in the permanent makeup world was bold, in your face, and you noticed it. We wanted the opposite, even on the eyes.
The technique is gentle enough that most clients rate the discomfort 2 or 3 out of 10, and the studio uses topical 4% lidocaine only, with no injectables. Clients are often surprised how calm the eye area feels once it is numbed, and many relax completely through the appointment. The artists who work on eyes have been personally trained by Amanda to the same Eastside Standard as every other service, because the eye area leaves no room for a junior tier.
The other worry is how it will age. We think about your results in years, not weeks. Pigment selection, depth, and technique are chosen so a lash line enhancement stays reading as your own darker lash line and a defined eyeliner stays a clean true line rather than turning or migrating.
