Nano brows at Eastside Microblading & Beauty are a eyebrow technique that places ultra-fine, single-needle hair strokes into the upper layer of the skin using a digital machine rather than a hand tool. The single needle is finer than a microblade, the depth is more controlled, and the strokes heal cleaner on skin types where traditional microblading would blur. The result still reads as individual hairs, soft and natural, customized to your face shape, your skin type, and how the pigment will age on your skin over time.
Where nano really earns its place is on the skin types microblading was never the right answer for. A lot of clients come to us after microblading faded fast on oily skin somewhere else, sometimes within months, and they assume permanent makeup does not work for them. The honest truth is that they were matched to the wrong technique. Oily skin produces more sebum, and that extra oil softens and blurs the crisp hair strokes microblading creates, so the result looks great for a few weeks and then loses definition. Nano places finer strokes more precisely, and on oily, mature, or thin skin it holds its definition far longer.

The pre-visit suitability review
You can book online or request a personal recommendation. The studio screens for medical contraindications (pregnancy, breastfeeding, autoimmune conditions, recent medications, skin conditions, prior PMU work), discusses your goals, and confirms whether nano brows are right for your skin type. If your skin is normal to dry with no prior work, we may recommend microblading instead, and we will tell you which one fits before treatment.

Skin assessment and numbing
At your appointment, the artist evaluates your skin type, oil level, brow density, and any prior PMU work. This assessment is what confirms nano is the right call for you. Topical 4% lidocaine is applied, with no injectables. The technique is gentle enough that this is all most clients need. Numbing takes about 20 to 30 minutes.

Mapping and shape approval
Using symmetry software, your bone structure, and the ratios of your face, the artist draws your ideal brow shape with a pencil. You review and adjust the shape together until it is exactly what you want. No pigment goes in until you approve the shape.

Pigment selection
The artist selects pigment colors that blend with your natural brow color, your skin tone, and the way the pigment will fade over time. All pigments at Eastside Microblading & Beauty pass European safety standards. The selection is reviewed with you before application.

Nano hair-stroke application
Using a digital machine fitted with a single ultra-fine needle, the artist applies individual hair-like strokes following the shape you approved. The finer needle and controlled depth are what let the strokes hold on oily and mature skin. Most clients rate the discomfort 2 to 3 out of 10. Many fall asleep during the appointment.

Post-treatment walkthrough
The artist walks you through your healing kit, aftercare instructions, and what to expect at each healing stage. You leave with everything you need for the next several weeks, and a direct line to the studio if a question comes up.

Touch-up at 6 to 8 weeks
A perfecting touch-up 6 to 8 weeks after the initial session refines any areas that healed lighter than expected and locks in the density. A 6-to-8-week touch-up is not included in the treatment price.

When you walk into Eastside, the first thing that you’ll notice is how calm it feels. The lighting, the scent, everything is designed to help you feel at ease. And we start every permanent makeup appointment with a very detailed consultation. We use symmetry software, your bone structure, and the ratios of your face to show you your ideal shape first. And we draw that with a pencil. Then we work closely together as a team to really fine-tune and make sure that it’s really you. And it’s one of our favorite parts: when we see and show you your ideal shape and you get that exciting feeling, like it’s you again. That’s when we start.
Next, we choose your pigment. And we are experts at selecting a color and a tone that blends with your natural brows, your skin tone, and how it’s going to age over time. And that’s the part that most people unfortunately don’t think about. But we do. And that is really where experience in permanent makeup comes into play.
The treatment itself is very gentle with our technique. And most clients, believe it or not, they rate the discomfort level of a treatment a two or a three out of ten. We use a topical numbing cream, but honestly, most of our clients fall asleep. Our technique is that gentle. The entire appointment takes about three hours, and we block out that time for you so that nothing feels rushed. We really enjoy it, and you deserve that. This is a prominent treatment on your face. It’s not a quick appointment.
And when we’re done, we’re going to walk you through everything: your healing timeline, your aftercare kit, and what to expect over the next few weeks. And it’s pretty easy. And then comes the best part. There comes this moment once you’ve healed, and you get out of the shower in the morning, and you look in the mirror the first time, and you feel like yourself again, but elevated. And you don’t feel obligated to put makeup on walking out the door. And that’s why we do this.

But here’s the thing: experience really matters when it comes to permanent makeup on your face. So I’m really glad that you’re doing your research. Can I get nano brows if I have prior PMU work or am pregnant?+
It depends. The studio asks for photos of any prior PMU work before booking and will tell you honestly whether nano over it is possible, whether removal is needed first, or whether a different brow service fits better.
