Microblading at Eastside Microblading & Beauty is a cosmetic eyebrow technique that places individual hair-like strokes into the upper layer of the skin to create the look of fuller, more defined brows. The result heals soft, natural, and customized to your face shape, your skin type, and how the pigment will age on your skin over time. The signature commitment is that nobody knows you had it done. Microblading is the right choice for:

Microblading is not right for everyone, and the honest answer is part of the service. Clients with oily skin, mature skin where hair strokes will not hold cleanly, or scar tissue from previous work are usually better candidates for nano brows or powder brows. We will tell you not only how microblading would look now, but how it is going to fade for you over time. The Eastside Process for Microblading

The pre-visit suitability review
You can book online or request a personal recommendation. The studio screens for medical contraindications (pregnancy, autoimmune conditions, recent medications, skin conditions, prior PMU work), discusses your goals, and confirms whether microblading is right for your skin type. If you are a better candidate for nano or powder brows, we recommend that instead.

Skin assessment and numbing
At your appointment, the artist evaluates your skin type, brow density, and any prior PMU work. Topical 4% lidocaine is applied, with no injectables. The technique is gentle enough that this is all most clients need. Numbing takes about 20 to 30 minutes.

Mapping and shape approval
Using symmetry software, your bone structure, and the ratios of your face, the artist draws your ideal brow shape with a pencil. You review and adjust the shape together until it is exactly what you want. No pigment goes in until you approve the shape.

Pigment selection
The artist selects pigment colors that blend with your natural brow color, your skin tone, and the way the pigment will fade over time. All pigments at Eastside Microblading & Beauty pass European safety standards. The selection is reviewed with you before application.

Hair-stroke application
Using a hand-tool microblade, the artist applies individual hair-like strokes following the shape you approved. Pigment is placed in the upper layer of skin. Most clients rate the discomfort 2 to 3 out of 10. Many fall asleep during the appointment.

Post-treatment walkthrough
The artist walks you through your healing kit, aftercare instructions, and what to expect at each healing stage. You leave with everything you need for the next several weeks.

Touch-up at 6 to 8 weeks
A perfecting touch-up 6 to 8 weeks after the initial session refines any areas that healed lighter than expected. This touch-up is scheduled and charged separately.

When you walk into Eastside, the first thing that you’ll notice is how calm it feels. The lighting, the scent, everything is designed to help you feel at ease. And we start every permanent makeup appointment with a very detailed consultation. We use symmetry software, your bone structure, and the ratios of your face to show you your ideal shape first. And we draw that with a pencil. Then we work closely together as a team to really fine-tune and make sure that it’s really you. And it’s one of our favorite parts: when we see and show you your ideal shape and you get that exciting feeling, like it’s you again. That’s when we start.
Next, we choose your pigment. And we are experts at selecting a color and a tone that blends with your natural brows, your skin tone, and how it’s going to age over time. And that’s the part that most people unfortunately don’t think about. But we do. And that is really where experience in permanent makeup comes into play.
The treatment itself is very gentle with our technique. And most clients, believe it or not, they rate the discomfort level of a treatment a two or a three out of ten. We use a topical numbing cream, but honestly, most of our clients fall asleep. Our technique is that gentle. The entire appointment takes about three hours, and we block out that time for you so that nothing feels rushed. We really enjoy it, and you deserve that. This is a prominent treatment on your face. It’s not a quick appointment.
And when we’re done, we’re going to walk you through everything: your healing timeline, your aftercare kit, and what to expect over the next few weeks. And it’s pretty easy. And then comes the best part. There comes this moment once you’ve healed, and you get out of the shower in the morning, and you look in the mirror the first time, and you feel like yourself again, but elevated. And you don’t feel obligated to put makeup on walking out the door. And that’s why we do this.

But here’s the thing: experience really matters when it comes to permanent makeup on your face. So I’m really glad that you’re doing your research. The way that we approach permanent makeup is a lot different than everyone else out there, because we want it done right the first time, and we know you forever. And having a result that you’re happy with for the long term makes the closest relationships.

Maintenance appointments every 1–4 years are billed separately, and the studio holds its quality bar rather than competing on price.
Who performs microblading at Eastside?+
Microblading is performed by Amanda Banks (International Grand Master Permanent Makeup Artist, former AAM Board Member, and founder of Eastside Microblading & Beauty) and by master artists Amanda has personally trained. Every artist is trained to the same Eastside Standard before working on clients.
Why do microbladed brows sometimes turn gray, red, or blue?+
That happens when pigment is placed too deep or a color is chosen that does not account for your skin’s undertone. The warm tones in a pigment fade first, leaving cooler tones behind. The studio selects color and depth specifically for how the pigment will age on your skin, which is why healed results stay natural rather than turning.
Can I get microblading if I have prior PMU work or am pregnant?+
It depends. The studio asks for photos of any prior PMU work before booking and will tell you honestly whether microblading over it is possible, whether removal is needed first, or whether powder brows are a better fit. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, recent medications, and certain autoimmune or skin conditions affect timing and candidacy. All of this is screened during your suitability review.
